HELLO FROM THE STAFF AT DRAGONFLY STUDIOS WI!
Welcome and we're glad you stopped by!
We believe that the way to document your life's journey BEGINS with creating great photos!
So take a look around and if you have any questions, be sure to reach out.
Although we're located in western Wisconsin, our motto is
"Making the World Our Studio".
We'd love to help you capture the images that become your family heirlooms!
Hi and thank you for finding us!
Here's some information about my photography journey...
Way back in 1978, when I entered UW-La Crosse, I signed up for 35mm photography courses taught by Mr. Ed Bardill and Mr. Roger Grant. One of my instructors received his formal training under the direction of the world-renowned photographer, Ansel Adams!
For most people, that doesn’t mean anything, but for those who are fellow photographers,
Mr. Adams was THE pioneer of landscape photography and capturing light during his lifetime.
Back then, we had to look down through the top of the camera, line up the subject
(who was viewed upside down!), and then take the shot, recording it onto a 4X6” negative.
Some of my best college memories are also doing work study in the college’s photo lab,
where we used a professional grade darkroom to develop, process
and turn those photos right side up.
I was graduated (Yep, I'm a full-fledged grammar nerd) with minors in Speech,
Mass Communications and Photography.
My journey also included a 30+ year career working and teaching in law enforcement.
During that time, I married and had a family-- the perfect setting for a hobbyist photographer.
After I retired, I went back to school to "get up to speed" with technology, and along with other members of our team, have completed extensive refresher training in
Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, California and Canada.
As we've added to our family, I've also been joined by two talented and award-winning photographer daughters, who help complete the DragonflyStudiosWI shooting team.
In 2017, we built a small home studio, and DragonflyStudiosWI was born.
While we are based out of Eau Claire and Independence, Wisconsin where our indoor studio
is located, our team also incudes a team of videography and editing friends,
each of whom brings their own unique talents to our adventure.
We offer top-quality portrait photography with budget-friendly pricing.
Our prices are competitive and our quality is well above most of the “I’ve always really
liked photography, so now I’m a photographer” set. (We are also licensed and insured.)
This job is challenging at times, but the awesome clients we have developed continue to
praise our work and most importantly, make it worthwhile.
So tell us about your next big adventure!
We'd love to chat more about your vision and to help you make it happen!
No matter what your event is,
we look forward to helping you capture your special moments in life.
Our vibe is light and airy, but we can also shoot dark and moody when requested.
We also love to capture great sunsets perfectly when the situation arises.
Our portrait tools-of-choice include Canon 5D Mark IV and Sony A9, both high end, full frame instruments.
This means you'll get both great color and clarity in your portraits!
We also supplement our photos with Godox Off Camera lighting, when needed, for beautiful, tack sharp portraits.
We can't wait to see you through our camera lenses!
